La Vuelta Ibérica

The Route

The whole route has been divided into 34 cycling stages and 8 rest days in Monte Perdido National Park, San Sebastián, Picos de Europa, Santiago de Compostela, Porto, Lisboa, Sevilla and Córdoba. We have included 2 short and easy stages so that you have the opportunity to visit interesting places like Bilbao and Coimbra.
The cycling days have mostly the same schedule : a start early in the morning and cycle the distance at own speed to the next place. The daily distance depends on the profile and the locations of suitable accommodation. It's an average of around 100 kilometres.

The whole route follows almost everywhere quiet cycling roads. You can expect serious climbing in the first half of the tour between Barcelona and Porto when the average elevation gain is around 1.900 meters per day. The second part between Porto and Granada is definitely flatter with an average of 1.200 meters per day, but than a last big climb is waiting. The Pico Veleta. The highest paved road of Europe. 40 kilometers all the way up.
